But Wait, There’s More…SSFIV:AE!?!? Still Alive?
The BBFC, or British Board of Film Classification acknowledged the existence of the long rumored Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition today. They issued it a rating much like what the ESRB does stateside. The existence of a console port of the Arcade Edition has been in question ever since Super Street Fighter IV hit arcades and was not a carbon copy of the home version. Producer of the series Yoshinori Ono had even gone as far as saying that there were no further plans for a console port of the game, only to later retract that statement and replace it with one that said the opposite.
This rating from the BBFC, pretty much confirms that it will be released somewhere. Rarely does a game get rated by a ratings board, and then get canceled. So, all you SF fans can cool your jets, the arcade edition may be in your hands soon, possibly very soon. The BBFC also gave the title a June 24th release date. Sure, until we hear from Capcom, everything is pure speculation, but come on people, lets be reasonable. The only way this game gets a rating is if Capcom submits it for a rating.
This game is coming out! Congrats SF fans, thanks to you, just like Street Fighter II, Street Fighter IV
will not die.
