One of the biggest Nintendo mysteries of recent years was the curious lack of a virtual console on the DSi. Well, with the 3DS, that is changing in a big way. Nintendo announced at its 2010 Press Conference today that the much anticipated service will be available on the 3DS.
Other than the simple announcement nothing else was mentioned (I.E. price, availability, library, etc.). Two games were mentioned in the press release, Super Mario Land and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX. Nintendo if you are paying attention here’s what should be next Donkey Kong ’94 and Metroid II: Return of Samus. Oh and also the 3DS will be launching in March 2011…that’s really soon.
