Techpedition’s Best of E3

Its time for Techpedition to crown the winners of the first annual Best of E3.  The dust has settled
and the industry experts are filling websites with their opinions on what the best games at E3 were.  Since the Techpedition crew was there, I think it is only fitting that we announce our picks.  These games were picked June 4th, after the show closed on Thursday.  Our opinions were still fresh and it shows.  We debated on a few and some of the results may surprise you.  Here we go… (oh and to give you an idea of how much fun Knotts had at the show, rather than posting pictures of the games list I’ll just post a bunch of pictures of him with the booth babes…enjoy)

Best Multi-platform game

Batman Arkham Asylum

Bayonetta

Tony Hawk Ride

Assassin’s Creed 2 – Winner

Lego Rock Band

Bayonetta was a very close second. I don’t think anyone thought it would be as good as it was. However, the team could not deny the ferocity of the new Assassin’s Creed.

Best Wii Game

The Conduit

New Super Mario Bros Wii

Miromasa

Sin and Punishment – Winner

Wii Sports Resort

The results of the Wii category are very indicative of who the Techpedition crew are. Every other website listed The Conduit, New Super Mario Bros and Wii Sports Resort, but we went with a sequel to a Japan only shooter.

Best PS3 Game

God of War 3 – Winner

Infamous

MAG

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

God of War 3 was an almost unanimous choice. Its beautiful and ultra violent, exactly what a GOW game should be.

Best Xbox 360

Halo ODST

Left 4 Dead 2 – Winner

Lips Number One Hits

APB

I think Techpedition should get major props for nominating Lips for best Xbox 360 game, but of what was on the E3 showroom floor, Left 4 Dead 2 was really the biggest Xbox 360 standout title.

Best Portable

Zelda: Spirit Tracks – Winner

Cop: The Recruit

Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier

MotorStorm: Arctic Edge

Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box

To be honest, we didn’t play too many portable titles. The battle here was between, Zelda and Cop. Cop came in a very close second and will be a game to watch.

The Biggest Surprise

Left 4 Dead 2 Announced and Playable

Metroid Other M – Winner

Final Fantasy XIV

Mario Galaxy 2

Castlevania: Lord of Shadow

Many surprises came out of E3, but nothing was awe inducing as Metroid Other M. Of course, we aren’t including anything hardware related. If that was the case I think Project Natal would be the clear winner.

knotts7

Worst Game

DC Online Universe

Dark Void

The Conduit

Red Steel 2

Saw: The Video Game – Winner

To call Saw a game would be doing it a service. This quarter assed (that’s right not even half) attempt at capitalizing on the Saw franchise can celebrate today because trust me it will be winning no other awards.

Best Game

The Beatles Rock Band

Left 4 Dead 2 – Winner

Bayonetta

The Conduit

COP

Here’s another choice that shows exactly who the Techpedition crew is. Nowhere in the nominees is Halo, God of War or Mario, yet we still have a dynamite Best Game group. Listed, are five games that we Techpedition.com will be watching for this holiday season, hoping they are as good as we thought.

It should also be noted that The Conduit being listed as Best and Worst Game was done to indicate that we were extremely divided on whether it was good or not. Actually it should probably get an award for the most heatedly disputed game during and after E3 on Techpedition.com. As for the Booth Babe pictures, this is only a fraction of what Knotts (Darkdragon) turned up while cruising the show floor, maybe in time the rest will surface.
