Liugeaux’s E3 day 0.5
After sharing a particularly long flight to LA with none other than Cedric the Entertainer, we were greeted by this giant Assassin’s Creed banner when we got to the convention center today. It was a light day, that saw us getting a feel for the walk to and from the hotel and reading alot of online updates from other media outlets.
We weren’t in town early enough for the Microsoft Press Conference, so between Kotaku, Giant Bomb and Gamespot, we got our fill of E3 news. We picked up our sweet press badges (pictured below) and found the press and media lounge.
I have never felt more culturally significant. While in that room if I wasn’t typing or editing pics or something I felt out of place. Having forgotten my video camera in the hotel room like a jackass we couldn’t shoot any preshow stuff. On the way back to the hotel, I’m 90% sure we saw Cliff Blezinski walking toward the expo. If it wasn’t him, it was a dude that looked a hell of a lot like him.
We ate El Pollo Loco, and then Kary and I went to the Ubisoft press conference. We had to get another badge specific for Ubisoft, and it’s really cool being acknowledged by such a major publisher as an outlet to promote their games.
While in line for our Ubi badges I caught a glimpse of Brad Shoemaker from Giant Bomb, random reps from gamespy, gamespot, screw attack and two or three asian dudes from Famitsu. I find it absolutely crazy that I have the same access these dudes have…wow!
The Ubi show went great, but Kary’s gonna have a huge post about it. What’s on the agenda for tomorrow? First thing in the morning, Nintendo’s press conference. Here’s to hoping we get some Kid Icarus, and a Smash Bros DS.
Then, my personal favorite, Harmonix at 12:30. Sony is also meeting tomorrow, but I don’t think we can get in. For those of you following Techpedition.com we will have more to come in the coming days.
